Sorry About The Wait

 I have been absent for quite some time. Not entirely by choice. I had a mental health issues that necessitated an absence from being online. But after this delay I am moving on. I apologize for the inconvenience.

My computer hard drive crashed and as of this writing it looks like all my data is gone. I have a few really old backups but nothing recent. This has given me cause to reexamine my gaming habits. One of which is my hording. I have a lot of gaming stuff. Both physical copy and digital files. I use very little of it. I collect things like a mad man, thinking I might need it some day. Time to narrow the range of stuff I pursue. I will still follow and write about the great many games I like. However my personal collect will contract to include only the few games I want to play. This hobby is an important part of my life and I want to enjoy it more.

Too Quiet For A long Time

Yes I have been not posting for the longest time ever. No this blog is not over, finished or abandoned. 

My Other Blog

 I have started another blog. I know, I can't seem to post regularly on this one so why would I take on more. The other blog is just for war gaming. My other past time. I play more war games than role playing games. And I want this blog to be for just RPGs. Go give it a look sometime.

I'ts NOT Dead Jim

Yeah OK, a long time without posting makes you wonder. No I haven't gone the way of the dodo. And there hasn't been any big personal crisis. I had an attack of; laziness, apathy, writer's block, alien intervention or whatever. I still have things to say about RPGs but I have been thinking of including war-games as well. The inspiration for this blog was the other RPG blogs. But role-playing is only part of my gaming life. I do very little dungeon delving (space ranging, mystery busting etc.) right now so it makes sense to me to include the other stuff I do. I won't replace anything, it will just supplement it. I thought at first to create another blog to accommodate this other material. That is still possible, but for now I will post some stuff here. Kind of like a test run. I will sort stuff with labels to make it easier to find what you are interested in. Please feel free to post feedback on this or anything else.  And as Robocop says; "Thank you for your co-operation."

And We're Back

 And we are back. Sorry for the long delay. At first it was a bad case of the doldrums. Then last month I came down with severe stomach pain. It lasted for days and days so I went the the hospital. After several trips over the course of two weeks (including one trip by ambulance) the doctors said I had a stomach Hernia and needed surgery right away. I was in and out of the operation without any trouble and so far no complications. I am in my second week of recovery and doing fine. I also lost ten pounds for my trouble. I'm glad to be feeling well enough to be back but I,m not liking the new blogger interface much.

I Lost My Notes

AARRGG! I lost my notes. I who never lose anything have lost my notes. I made a note about my next few posts. I just jotted a few thoughts on a single piece of small note paper. I can't find it anywhere.
I will just have to reconstruct the ideas from memory. During the search I did find an old note about several subjects that I never posted so its not too bad. One question to you fellow bloggers;
Do you plan ahead or just wing it when posting?

I Forgot My Anniversary

My last post was just after the 3 rd anniversary of my blog. I can't believe I forgot it. January 14 was my first post 3 years ago. I also can't believe its been that long.

OK, so that's not quite what happened to my computer. But (the power supply spiked and fried my motherboard and one hard drive), I have been without a computer for almost a month. Updates to follow shortly. Please stand by.....

The Big Move

I have recently moved into much larger place (3bdrm townhouse) from my tiny apartment. A big plus of the place is a finished room in the basement. And of course its my new games room. I'm still unpacking as you can see. Its about 8' by 20' so a full size gaming table might be a tight squeeze. Andy suggested instead of a 4x8 lengthwise why not a 6x5 sideways against a wall. I had my heart set on a full size table but this is a better idea. Of course this for minatures gaming not RPGs. I plan to run those around the traditional dinning room table. Does the space you have to play in shape the size of your table?

P.S. yes those are boffer weapons in the big box along with my shield,
my geekness knows no limits

What's Up With Blogger?

Has anyone else noticed continue weirdness going on with Blogger? People have complained about lost posts and missing features. But has anyone else noticed a huge change in their hits counter? I write this blog for my own amusement but knowing that I have an audience is important to me. I pay attention to the hits counter for fun and I don't worry about it mostly. But something funny has gone on with it lately I think. Since the start of this blog the number of hits has grown slowly but steadily. In May I had 700 page views. In June I had 1967. Wow a huge increase. I was happy. I don't do this for the page views but its nice to be read. But then July was a big drop. Only 246. Yes i know its only the 11th of the month. But looking at page views pr day I got 243 for June 15th and the very next day I got 30. Huh? That's a huge drop. And the trend continued on from that day. For the end of June and the beginning of July I am way below average on hits per day. Its as if suddenly everyone stopped reading my blog, all at once, on the same day. And now I am being boycotted. I don't think that is what is going on. But I ask anyone else if they to have noticed a huge change in the number of hits on your page. Up or down, any sudden change with out a reason. Just let my know by posting below (if you can, I heard that was not working as well) or e-mail me. My e-mail is posted in the about me section.
